What a sweet and lovely story to complete this beautiful trilogy of stories I cannot believe I somehow missed this third installment I read Pioneers and Pinky Swear some time ago and have no idea how I did not know about this story of Sebastian and Raymond First, I just love Lane and Matt and Sebastian in the first two books While those stories featured some glimpses of Sebastian primarily Pioneers , this is the book that is his new chapter We already have learned how Sebastian came to be What a sweet and lovely story to complete this beautiful trilogy of stories I cannot believe I somehow missed this third installment I read Pioneers and Pinky Swear some time ago and have no idea how I did not know about this story of Sebastian and Raymond First, I just love Lane and Matt and Sebastian in the first two books While those stories featured some glimpses of Sebastian primarily Pioneers , this is the book that is his new chapter We already have learned how Sebastian came to be alone in this New Orleans bungalow and the two young men who have sort of adopted him as he has adopted them But now Sebastian has met a man who makes him actually feel again While content with his life, he wasn t really happy in the truest sense When he begins dating Raymond, his life becomes something fun and interesting again He enjoys discovering new things with Ray and he feels alive in every sense of the word I loved the way the author does NOT gloss over the insecurities that Sebastian feels as a 70 year old man who may be intimate with someone for the first time in many years It s natural for any human being to feel vulnerable and apprehensive in that situation This part of the story was told with candor and a little bit of humor and a lot of love Both men were really sweet in trying to make each other happy and at ease Both have loved and lost and are hopeful that they have found in each other a new love that will carry them through Just a really beautifully told story Sad that there aren tstories, but we can go forward with a smile that Ray and Sebastian have found each other

I loved this book I read it flying home from Honolulu on Monday and it still haunts me I adore Sebastian and his new lover Raymond So much emotion is packed into this deceptively short book Either Lynn Lorenz has experienced deep loss or simply understands it very well but the romance of these two older gentlemen really tugged at my heartstrings.Matt and Lane are in here and still hot for one another but it s sweet that the younger men take a back seat, in a protective way, to their landlord I loved this book I read it flying home from Honolulu on Monday and it still haunts me I adore Sebastian and his new lover Raymond So much emotion is packed into this deceptively short book Either Lynn Lorenz has experienced deep loss or simply understands it very well but the romance of these two older gentlemen really tugged at my heartstrings.Matt and Lane are in here and still hot for one another but it s sweet that the younger men take a back seat, in a protective way, to their landlord s new romance. At the core, Sebastian and Raymond are different, these two men, and yet, not so different Both are struggling to drop the baggage of past relationships and live in the present.I loved every second of this and actually cried Yep, I cried.I really felt for both men who d lost lovesand once again felt the joy in discovering the New Orleans that this author knows In describing the zoo which has been restored, she managed with mere words to put me right there I felt like I saw it before it was upgraded and that I was seeing it with fresh eyes. You can always tell when an author has been to a place and Lorenz s lens is both sharp and soft in detailing this late, great love and the gently, slowly returning glory of the Big Easy.It s really a lovely storyone I will always cherish

This is just the most wonderful book The main character, Sebastian, appears in other of Lynn Lorenz s New Orleans books, starting with I believe Pinky Swear through Pioneers another outstanding book All too few authors address the idea of love past a certain age, not just a romantic love but a fully realized love in all aspects, including sexuality From the moment we met Sebastian you understand how fully he has lived his life, even through times when being gay was a crime He has loved a This is just the most wonderful book The main character, Sebastian, appears in other of Lynn Lorenz s New Orleans books, starting with I believe Pinky Swear through Pioneers another outstanding book All too few authors address the idea of love past a certain age, not just a romantic love but a fully realized love in all aspects, including sexuality From the moment we met Sebastian you understand how fully he has lived his life, even through times when being gay was a crime He has loved and lost loves and is satisfied in his current life thinking his time for love has past Until the prospect of a new love comes along Lynn Lorenz writes beautifully and realistically of sexuality in older individuals Pioneers really starts the tale that C est La Vie finishes, but one can be read without the other Sebastian, his life and loves past and present will stay with you long after you have finished the books

It took me a little bit to get into this book, theformal language of an older couple I think, but by the end I loved it and enjoyed revisiting the characters from earlier stories A second read ensured that it was a sweet and charming read, one that made me smile and my day a little bit better.

This is the third installment of this particular series and though I haven t read the first two books yet, I had no problem getting into the story and understanding how the characters relate to one another In this book you have two main couples, Matt and Lane MCs from the first two books and Raymond and Sebastian, whom the book focuses on Sebastian was in the first two books as a secondary character, though his part grew in the second one, and he is now the focus as he embarks back into the This is the third installment of this particular series and though I haven t read the first two books yet, I had no problem getting into the story and understanding how the characters relate to one another In this book you have two main couples, Matt and Lane MCs from the first two books and Raymond and Sebastian, whom the book focuses on Sebastian was in the first two books as a secondary character, though his part grew in the second one, and he is now the focus as he embarks back into the world of dating after a 20 year hiatus following the death of his last partner A great deal of information is given about Sebastian s life in the second book that I m sure would help when reading this one but there was enough information dropped in conversations that I wasn t lost as to what was going on What I really liked, however, was that the author wasn t afraid to show two older men 70yrs falling in love and having a relationship I think sometimes we get so lost in reading books with younger or middle aged characters that books like this can be shoved to the background I also enjoyed how Raymond and Sebastian connected over shared experiences and how they helped each other heal and move on Enjoyable read and I know I ll read it again after I go back to read the first two in the series 3.5
