A disorganized, shallow mess Trying to learn about Nietzsche s ideas from this book is like trying to learn chemistry by standing in a room full of people shouting random chemistry facts at you.

I knew nothing about the life and teachings of Fredrich Nietzsche when I picked up this book and I know practically nothing putting the book down again.I had hoped it would teach me the basics in a clear, concise manner What I got was a poorly put together, gimicy idea in which Nietzsche s life was portrayed in a black and white comic book fashion This wouldn t have been so bad if the book didn t already presume an impressive knowledge of 19th century philoshopical figures and events in histor I knew nothing about the life and teachings of Fredrich Nietzsche when I picked up this book and I know practically nothing putting the book down again.I had hoped it would teach me the basics in a clear, concise manner What I got was a poorly put together, gimicy idea in which Nietzsche s life was portrayed in a black and white comic book fashion This wouldn t have been so bad if the book didn t already presume an impressive knowledge of 19th century philoshopical figures and events in history.A book for beginners should be exactly that but I felt alienated and confused by this book No good at all.Back to the drawing board

This was an interesting graphic novel I was familiar with the views of Nietzsche and this book gives a short history of philology and nihilism originating in Germany Although non fiction, this was refreshing because I am a sucker for historical events.

I have read other books in this series which have been really good introductions for beginners I felt this one was rather unclear and messy I think it must be challenging to present philosophy in graphic novel format but that shouldnt be an excuse Certainly not the best in this series.

The book is certainly not for beginners You have to be familiar with certain ideas and certain people to fully enjoy this book.I felt the approach of the book was ironic, instead of making the book easier and fun to read the illustrations made the bookcomplex.
