I don t tend to give one star reviews, but this book was terrible There were so many plot holes, grammatical errors, spelling errors, contextual and sentence structure problems, and terrible world building that it was a chore to finish. The characters were uninteresting and the writing was childish Unfortunately, I bought this whole series without reading a chapter first but that is my fault I scanned through the others in the series and they are just as bad.

I really should have liked this book right I mean we have werewolves and romance and drama but nothing meshed To me this book was like a movie gone wrong ProblemsFIRSTSamara didn t ask any of the right questions, I mean all the way through the book I was pointing out obvious surprizes and thinking of questions that would have made the tranisitions go so much better for her but instead she was wrapped in her own little world and didn t notice anything outside of her own sucky life.Is I really should have liked this book right I mean we have werewolves and romance and drama but nothing meshed To me this book was like a movie gone wrong ProblemsFIRSTSamara didn t ask any of the right questions, I mean all the way through the book I was pointing out obvious surprizes and thinking of questions that would have made the tranisitions go so much better for her but instead she was wrapped in her own little world and didn t notice anything outside of her own sucky life.Is this one point or two SECONDThe love felt fake ALL OF IT Okay so 15 almost 16 and falling in love I might be able to understand but her best friend Emma the slut I definatley didn t get I could see one two or maybe even half a dozen guys at age 16 but seriously, being with a new guy every week and sleeping with all of them And even Samara and her being so obsessed with herself being a virgin and parents think that we get our ideas to have sex at younger ages is because of our friends school environment Samara s love doesn t seem very real to me, yes your first love is always your hardest but it was like oh cool your my mate you should totally be wanting to have sex with me now, oh and now you are super dreamy too That s not how is works sunshine _THIRDThis one is probably a really lame reason but the vegatarian to meat lover It just kind of seemed all thrown together, they don t mention that she is a vegatarian until the night that she scarfs down a pound of roast beef AND SHE DOESN T EVEN FLINCH If I were a vegatarian I would be puking because my stomach wanted the meat, maybe the main character should have gotten sick and the pack have to save her by feeding her meat and then she runs into the forest because she can t live with the fact that she just ate animal and, hey there s Seth, I wonder where my brother is goingGive me a pen and a copy of this book and I could turn it into a masterpiece Actually probably not, it s too far gone for that I really tried to like this book but by the end it was missing well everything I will not be reading the next one, the author screwed up this one too badly

I haven t read a book that I absolutely had to force myself to finish in a long time The book was lacking transition from one scene to next, the one action scene was cut short for the cliffhanger I will not be reading the rest of the series.

I torn with this book because while I enjoyed bits of it, I found most of it to be frustrating and with nothing new added to the genre, there was too many cliches For this review I m going to list my likes and dislikes and see how we get on Dislikes.Samara She is the MC and I find, if I don t immediately connect to the main character, then it s hard to like the story She frustrated me no end She gets bitten by a wolf on her date and honestly, does nothing about it She was way too calm when I torn with this book because while I enjoyed bits of it, I found most of it to be frustrating and with nothing new added to the genre, there was too many cliches For this review I m going to list my likes and dislikes and see how we get on Dislikes.Samara She is the MC and I find, if I don t immediately connect to the main character, then it s hard to like the story She frustrated me no end She gets bitten by a wolf on her date and honestly, does nothing about it She was way too calm when it happened I mean, come on If a wolf bites you, you would freak Then when the bite clears up so fast, she just kind of shrugs it off THEN when she finds out she is a wolf, she takes it in her stride Any normal person would be freaking out in some way The dreaded love triangle I HATE them I may not be a teen any but when I was I never knew anyone who went through a love triangle It s so prevalent in YA that it puts a lot of people off books This particular triangle just felt so wrong and unreal It felt like the second choice was thrown in just to throw it in Her first choice was cliche as well I mean a stranger comes to town that happens to be her possible mate UGH.The ending This made me want to through the book across the room I was reading on my kindle so I didn t It was so abrupt and just seemed like the author stopped writing the scene and pressed published I don t mind a cliffhanger if it s well done, but I do hate one that ends so abruptly It ruined the story for me The way the author made her so special Of course the main character had to be special I mean that hasn t been done to death before, right She becomes a wolf but she is extra special Everyone wants her to join their pack and are willing to fight over her It was so predictable and annoying really Then we have the 2 main packs that want her The alpha of one is horrible and pure evil and the alpha of the other is nice Another cliche One pack has people she loves in it and the other has a new person she only met not going to say muchabout this because of spoilers so 2 guesses which one she thinks she will choose Likes OK, I trying to think of what I liked about the book and if I m honest, I m struggling to find some I did like a few of the secondary charactersthan Samara I liked parts of the plot and thought that if there weren t so many cliches in there, it may have been slightly better I think the only thing that saved this book was the fact that I listened to it rather than reading it I think if I was reading it I wouldn t have finished it but because Meghan Kelly was reading it and did an amazing job, as always, it gave the story a little bit of life.In all, I felt this was just a forgettable read There was too much cliches and not enough of the authors own spin In all honesty, I don t think Ill continue on with the series because I just didnt care what happened to the characters, and I know myself that if all the books end like this one ended, Id just rate them all the same Meghan Kelly, as I said, did an amazing job of bringing a drab story to life I can t fault her performance and she was the only thing that kept me listening to the story I received a copy of this for review All thoughts and opinions are my own

What I liked Writing style I felt the writing style in this book was a little better than it was in the first Briar Creek book and I liked the brief Briar Creek namedrop in this book The writing was a littleconsistent, and it feltmature Declan I liked his character and found him to be the best character in the entire book He was patient and understanding and blunt, which was the kind of friend Samara needed However, simply calling him the main character s best friend does not What I liked Writing style I felt the writing style in this book was a little better than it was in the first Briar Creek book and I liked the brief Briar Creek namedrop in this book The writing was a littleconsistent, and it feltmature Declan I liked his character and found him to be the best character in the entire book He was patient and understanding and blunt, which was the kind of friend Samara needed However, simply calling him the main character s best friend does not actually make him her best friend They only hung out like once, and he wasn t even really mentioned until like halfway through the book Until she finds out he s a werewolf too, she barely even thinks about him, and if they are best friends, Samara must be a crappy friend Lilly I also kind of liked her I seemed to like the secondary charactersthan the main ones I thought her storyline would have been a muchinteresting one and she would have made a far better heroine I also thought her worries and hesitation about accepting the werewolf lifestyle was the most realistic part of this book. What I disliked The ending I hate it when an author ends the book with an action scene that they decide to cut in half That is one of the biggest copouts there are in my opinion Why would you not finish the action scene and make the ending of the book explosive and awesome Did they cut it out just to lure the reader into the next book That really bothers me Samara She had a couple of moments where I kind of liked her character, but for the most part, I just found her stupid and hard to relate to She gets bitten by a wolf while on a date and doesn t react, and once she becomes a werewolf, she just accepts it She doesn t really question it, fight it, or have any problems dealing with what being a werewolf entails That s another huge copout making the main character super special and awesome view spoiler Plus she s willing to give up her brother and her best friend for the boy she barely knows and is somehow sure is worth it I hate it when an author does that Any girl that gives up her family and best friend for her crush is a bitch Plain and simple hide spoiler Overall, this book was okay I probably wouldn t recommend this book to anyone other than diehard werewolf fans that don t mind a case of insta love, a stupid heroine, and a boring plotline I don t think this series is worth continuing if I have to pay 2.99 for each sequel after this one 2.5

Howl by Jody Morse.I want to start off by saying that I gave this book three stars because it was a good book It was not a 5 star book which is like a life altering book that will force me to compare all other books to or a 4 star book that has has somehow captured my loyalty to the writer forever This was a three star book because it was, simply put, good The story line is a simple werewolf plot with the protagonist, Sam, becoming a werewolf that all the local packs want because of her pot Howl by Jody Morse.I want to start off by saying that I gave this book three stars because it was a good book It was not a 5 star book which is like a life altering book that will force me to compare all other books to or a 4 star book that has has somehow captured my loyalty to the writer forever This was a three star book because it was, simply put, good The story line is a simple werewolf plot with the protagonist, Sam, becoming a werewolf that all the local packs want because of her potential for having so much power as a descendent from the most powerful werewolf of all time Sam is ultimately forced to decide between two packs which is problematic because she are not longer able to associate with any other packs at least peacefully, anyway and she has people that she cares about in both packs Once she chooses a pack, a war will be fought between the two packs I hated, hated, hated how the book ends I felt like we had a lot of build up for nothing I get that it is to be a cliffhanger to entice the reader to get the next book to find out what happens but I am a strong believer that each book in a series should be strong enough to stand alone and not rely on following books That is just my personal preference and is not meant to criticize I did like the characters and I am interested in where this series will take its readers I think that the werewolf thing is pretty overdone but this book had enough uniqueness that it didn t get muddied with the rest of the werewolf books out there Plus, even though the werewolf stories are overdone, I have to admit that they are a guilty pleasure of mine

This was an amazing book I have read other books by Jody Morse and Jayme Morse and I loved them but I seem to love this book evenThere are so many shocking bits that drop your jaw Also this book sends your emotions running high And I love Luke but I also love Declan I don t know how she was able to pick between the two packs, it was hard for me to think which one I would pick There was only one bit I was really angry at It was when Declan declared his love to her and she turned in This was an amazing book I have read other books by Jody Morse and Jayme Morse and I loved them but I seem to love this book evenThere are so many shocking bits that drop your jaw Also this book sends your emotions running high And I love Luke but I also love Declan I don t know how she was able to pick between the two packs, it was hard for me to think which one I would pick There was only one bit I was really angry at It was when Declan declared his love to her and she turned into the biggest jerk ever She said that she didn t want to lose her best friend even if she picked the Ima pack, so why then when she had chosen to be an Ima did she go Oh well since we on different packs I will just be mean to my best friend who has been there for me forever Instead of being an ass she should have admitted her love for him we all knew she secretly loved him and that no matter if they were on different packs, that she would always be his best friend Yeah, it kind of broke my heart when she broke his heart But her loved it and I have already ordered the next book Counting down the days till I get it
