If you want to read a scholarly book on the life of Christ this series is for you I started it some time ago and will finish the complete series including Book 4 and the Millennial Messiah However, I find McConkie very wordy and repetitive It is not something that I can sit down and read for a long period of time which is why it takes me so long to get through each of his books It took me over a year to get through this one.

Now that I have read this volume, in the middle of the complete set, I will have to go find the others and read them as well Br McConkie offers some great insights into the meaning of the life of the Messiah which a casual reading of the scriptures will not reveal Much of what is printed I have already known or understood but there is much also that was new understanding for me Read it with an attitude of willingness to learn and you will gain great insight into the life of Christ.

Opening in Matthew 15 Mark 7, Luke 9, and John 7 , McConkie expounds the doctrine that Christ teaches, strengthens the reader s soul, and illuminates the fire of the gospel It continues through the Sermon on the Mount, and increased opposition from the corrupt leaders, and finishes with Jesus final teaching in the Temple and the Olivet discourse to the Apostles.
