This is a historical romance and I haven t read straight romances in quite a while, and I must say I ve missed them, so this was a very enjoyable read for me The storyline behind this book was actually rather good, it revolved around Rosa Rothwell, who was rather cruelly turned away by her parents when it was discovered she was pregnant, and unmarried Her parents had her hidden away, locked up in her mother s Italian family home Rosa eventually managed to escape, and while running from the family home, she meets Lord Thomas Hunter, who believes his family is cursed with a deadly disease, which to me, in our modern times, sounds like an auto immune disease, perhaps similar to Lou Gehrigs disease, ALS At any rate, Thonas saves Rosa from some of her uncles who hunt her down, and they decide to travel to England together, where she ll stay with Thomas mother It is quite the journey they take to get to England, and as time passes, their feelings for each other blossom to love Thomas is afraid he may be stricken with the disease that killed his father and brother, so he is prepared to leave Rosa with his mother shortly after she gives birth Things change however, and it is truely an HEA story that I really enjoyed.

Martin writes a romantic marriage of convenience story about a pregnant heroine and a troubled hero in Venice The author knows how to convince readers that love can love grow between a woman who has experienced sex but not passion, and a man who knows how to love without reservation The sweet romance that blossoms between them may bring a deep sigh from readers who adore a love story that makes the impossible seem realistic 4 stars RT Book Reviews.

This is a very opinion based review Sorry I enjoyed the story, even with what I consider elements that did not fit the right way For example historical accuracy or time line events or even the series of calamities that occur I took this for what it was instead, a story that was meant to entertain Fiction So, based upon that, I enjoyed this light read as a change of pace I was given this book in return for an honest review Anna Swedenmom

This story was interesting on a few levels To begin with, it was nothing like the usual historical romances that I have read in the past Never before have I read about a titled man so willing to allow a child not of his blood to be claimed and have the title passed to them Obviously it made sense when you consider the curse that Lord Hunter believed his family to be under I also had to question the curse that Rosa fell under Although she was never mentioned as having one, this poor girl was under attack almost from the get go Unmarried, pregnant and exiled Locked up by family, accosted by pick pockets, being robbed. how much can happen to one person before they become cursed Aside from those minor things, I really enjoyed this story The banter between Rosa and Lord Hunter was amusing, and watching them fall in love was a fun ride There were times when I wanted to smack them both for dancing around what was right in front of them, but all in all, I think the way it was done really worked for the story Overall, I do think this novel will still appeal to those who enjoy a historical romance with engaging characters that are able to suspend the usual rules when it comes to read such a novel I would read from this author DISCLAIMER I received a complimentary copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review This has not affected my review in any way All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are 100% my own.

I WANTED badly to like this However, there re research errors galore, and the characters are either evil or saintly plus there s a lot of stereotyping going on People drop in and out of the story for no particular reason, and the heroine stumbles from one TSTL situation to another highway robberies, pickpockets, various accidents. Each chapter is made up of lots of random little scenes that have no real indication time or place has changed It was, for example, pretty awkward when one moment we were in the middle of a sex scene, and the next the heroine was reuniting with her father By the time hero and heroine were view spoiler in a shipwreck and then conveniently washed up on the English coast at their own house hide spoiler
