This book was a little bit of a train wreck which really disappointed me I love the nanny trope and look for it constantly I think the nanny to wife story is adorable and I usually hunt for them at the book sales but I sort of wish I had not bought this one.Basically Amy has been the nanny for Dan s daughter for three years ish She has been secretly in love with him for a long time and has fantasies She s afraid to speak up because Dan has a tendency to kick women to the curb when they start This book was a little bit of a train wreck which really disappointed me I love the nanny trope and look for it constantly I think the nanny to wife story is adorable and I usually hunt for them at the book sales but I sort of wish I had not bought this one.Basically Amy has been the nanny for Dan s daughter for three years ish She has been secretly in love with him for a long time and has fantasies She s afraid to speak up because Dan has a tendency to kick women to the curb when they start wanting a commitment When Dan discovers she s been seeing this attorney he freaks out Amy is his nanny and therefore she belongs to him I m exaggerating.Dan gets the brilliant idea to spend two weeks getting her to fall in love with him and then he ll propose He ll get a wife and mother for his child and not have to fall in love He wants sex but figures they can just be companions Of course Amy falls for this and they get engaged Then she gets outraged Here are my issues 1 Amy is an idiot Seriously, she is Amy knows his history and then believes he fell in love with her suddenly She constantly says she knows Dan loved his late wife and was still in love with her but seemingly now loves Amy They get engaged after twelve days ish and things Hey that s normal She also seems completely okay with giving up her dreams because of the ring Can you say weak heroine.2 Dan is an idiot Once again seriously, he is He seems to want Amy to be a built in babysitter who sleeps with him Sure he s a great father but he s scared to love again He decides to trap Amy into staying with him when he thinks she might actually like someone else He expects her to do just what he wants and expects without asking what she wants Stupid Hero.So at the end of the book I just sort of went, Eh I put it in the to donate pile and immediately went looking for reviews of this book There aren t many and I m not sure whether it means no one has read it or no one liked it enough to review Regardless I was not a fan.2 5 Stars
