This one really lost me.you almost immediately learn from hero s POV that after being together for a year, heroine meant so little to hero that he s moved on to sleeping with other women in the 7 months of her pregnancy But she turns him onthan all the other women he s slept with I m really impressednot I m struggling with the writing, I m very detached from the hero This is one where heroine should be demanding the hero sign something relinquishing parental rights in response to This one really lost me.you almost immediately learn from hero s POV that after being together for a year, heroine meant so little to hero that he s moved on to sleeping with other women in the 7 months of her pregnancy But she turns him onthan all the other women he s slept with I m really impressednot I m struggling with the writing, I m very detached from the hero This is one where heroine should be demanding the hero sign something relinquishing parental rights in response to his request that she disclaim his relationship And, haven t they heard of DNA

DNFThe book had some very scathing reviews, and some really high ones So I figured I d read it, and either love it or at least it d get my blood pumping in a I can t believe she wrote that , kind of way Meh Honestly I found it all rather boring It had everything your average HQ does Alpah jerk H with a tortured past is in an arrangement with the h He tells her upfront, no marriage, no relationship, no love, just sex The h is in lurv, and a total doormat who says yes dear to everything DNFThe book had some very scathing reviews, and some really high ones So I figured I d read it, and either love it or at least it d get my blood pumping in a I can t believe she wrote that , kind of way Meh Honestly I found it all rather boring It had everything your average HQ does Alpah jerk H with a tortured past is in an arrangement with the h He tells her upfront, no marriage, no relationship, no love, just sex The h is in lurv, and a total doormat who says yes dear to everything he wants and never stirs the pot She gets knocked up and tells the H right away yay for being an adult and not hiding the pregnancy buuuut view spoiler H had himself fixed , so he rants at the h when she tells him, accusing her of being a cheater hide spoiler h runs away boo to have her baby and why couldn t the H PI find her O.o luckily she comes back and confronts the H again, one DNA test later and the H is a believer And through all that, I felt nothing No injustice at the h plight, no pulling of my heart strings at the H obvious feelings for the h it just lacked emotion I read, but I wasn t into it, and so instead of being absorbed in the story, I found my mind wandering and my eyes darting to the percent complete bar.The writing was a bit clunky Characters moved or had thoughts that didnt seem to have any motivation behind them view spoiler when he grabs her neck, It was an out of the blue movement and really didn t make any sense in that scene hide spoiler I will say, I thought in the argument the H and h have about their daughter view spoiler that the H made a damn good point, sort of The one thing that I find really annoying in HQLand is that all h seem to run under the belief that having a vagina makes you the 1 parent, and that fathers are either irrelevant or lesser than The h offers the H visitation of their daughter and she acts as if she is being generous The H essentially flips the script and says he ll sue for custody and of course, the h is horrified She says something like but she needs me and the H replies, of course she does, but you act like she doesn t need me too hide spoiler Anyway I may try this author again, but probably not until she s worked out the kinks in her writing

I wish it were possible to give this book less than one star So disgusted with the portrayal of the hero, who is physically and mentally abusive towards the heroine, I have now revised my plan to sell the book on once completed to burning it leaf by leaf, just to draw out the satisfaction, knowing there is one less copy in the world As a note for any romance novelist out there, a relationship dynamic in which a man grabs a woman by the throat when he s angry, uses her child to coerce her into I wish it were possible to give this book less than one star So disgusted with the portrayal of the hero, who is physically and mentally abusive towards the heroine, I have now revised my plan to sell the book on once completed to burning it leaf by leaf, just to draw out the satisfaction, knowing there is one less copy in the world As a note for any romance novelist out there, a relationship dynamic in which a man grabs a woman by the throat when he s angry, uses her child to coerce her into living with him, harasses her for sex after she has repeatedly insisted she doesn t want to or is not yet ready and then removes her from a life outside their relationship by forbidding she work is not a sexy relationship It is a scary, cosseted, abusive relationship.I wish I could say at least one redeeming thing about this novel, but even the dialogue and the writing is clunky, unenjoyable and amateurish I would not recommend that anybody pick this book up to read

I read this eons ago and forgot all about it I recently found it again and didn t remember it until I was well into the book There s a reason i forgot this book It s completely forgettable I never felt the connection between the H and h The h ran from the H because she was pregnant and he accused her of cheating on him Instead of standing up to him, she disappeared, gave birth to his daughter and then reappears with the baby He still refused to believe that it s his child until he receive I read this eons ago and forgot all about it I recently found it again and didn t remember it until I was well into the book There s a reason i forgot this book It s completely forgettable I never felt the connection between the H and h The h ran from the H because she was pregnant and he accused her of cheating on him Instead of standing up to him, she disappeared, gave birth to his daughter and then reappears with the baby He still refused to believe that it s his child until he receives the DNA test results then Maury pops up and yells You ARE the father And as usual, one paternity is confirmed the H immediately becomes uber dad, beating his chest and growling I want my baby Then the drama begins H We live together h OK but we can t have sex H I want sex h I won t do it then H Then I ll take my baby h ok I give in I read the book, but I dragged myself through it It was ok but it s absolutely forgettable

The hero was a little bit tame compared with other HP romances Also the storyline was a bit linear and anticlimactic, even though there was some conflict it failed to impart that tension to the reader That s why i couldn t really connect with the characters For me it was a nice book though, an easy afternoon read.

This novel lets the story get lost in all the explicit sex scenes His no strings girlfriend gets pregnant which he cannot believe and he decides they must live together.

First, am I the only one who noticed that the synopsis of the book is wrong Katrina is not pregnant, she has already had the baby, and it is no surprise to Alex heretofore referred to as JackAss that she was pregnant because she had told him she was pregnant and he immediately broke up with her At the beginning of the book JackAss s all mad that Katrina disappeared out of his life Well, yeah, if I tell the guy I m sleeping with because Katrina and JackAss s arrangement can t be called d First, am I the only one who noticed that the synopsis of the book is wrong Katrina is not pregnant, she has already had the baby, and it is no surprise to Alex heretofore referred to as JackAss that she was pregnant because she had told him she was pregnant and he immediately broke up with her At the beginning of the book JackAss s all mad that Katrina disappeared out of his life Well, yeah, if I tell the guy I m sleeping with because Katrina and JackAss s arrangement can t be called dating or really a relationship because it really comes across asa string of booty calls that I m pregnant and his response is to yell at me about cheating on him, call me a gold digger, and say the baby isn t hisI m not sticking around forof that abuse So Katrina disappears from his life Way to go, Katrina, that is one of the few sensible things you do in this novel Maybe if he had actually known anything about her, he would have found her at her friends place But he didn t know anything about her because he is a JackAss so he cannot find her until she shows up at his work in the middle of the day to introduce him to his daughter Because, of course, his work place in the middle of the work day is the perfect place to corner him for that confrontation.Beyond that, there were many disturbing aspects to this book that made it unenjoyable I was super uncomfortable when this happened His eyes flashed with an emotion she couldn t quite define Suddenly, he was right there in front of her, hand cupping her throat Answer the question The smell of heated male flesh mixed with sweat folded around her like an invisible cloak As she inhaled, it was as if she were absorbing little particles of Alex that circulated in her bloodstream like a potent drug.Swallowing against the warmth of his palm, she managed to say huskily, What s this all about, Alex Ummyeah, men of the world, never put your hand on a woman s throat while you are yelling and angry Scary And that isn t even taking into consideration the way the hero emotionally blackmails Katrina with their daughter He threatens to take custody away if she doesn t move in with him Now, I am not familiar with Australian law, but I know enough about law in general to know that no judge is going to completely remove custody from a mother without extreme cause she s a drug addict or abusive or something , but I can see how that would be a realistic tool to force a mother into doing what you want because she fears losing her child on that slim what if I m not going to touch the stuff with the sex except to say Katrina says no to JackAss so many times and he keeps pushing and pushing and threatening until she finally succumbs to his demands why was it so unreasonable for her to expect him to go without sex for a few weeks so they could actually get to know one another and she could attempt to trust him again after the crap he s pulled Why does the author make this request that they be friends first seem so unrealistic And then once Katrina gives in and has sex with JackAss, everything is magic and wonderful between the two of them W.T.F

I got to page 52 before completely stopping The hero is an absolute, complete jerk and I can t stand the forcefulness of him A man can be alpha without being threatening As another reviewer said, I don t see grabbing heroine s throat, threatening to take away a child, and pushing the issue of sex as sexy Frankly NO MEANS NO I hate it when heroes push and push even though the heroine says no just because their body says yes Ugh So, I stopped reading the book at page 52 before I caused I got to page 52 before completely stopping The hero is an absolute, complete jerk and I can t stand the forcefulness of him A man can be alpha without being threatening As another reviewer said, I don t see grabbing heroine s throat, threatening to take away a child, and pushing the issue of sex as sexy Frankly NO MEANS NO I hate it when heroes push and push even though the heroine says no just because their body says yes Ugh So, I stopped reading the book at page 52 before I caused harm to my laptop as it was an ebook a purchased and not a paperback I fear that if it had been a paperback, I would have thrown the darn thing

Very good d The H was an alpha male but I didn t find him to be overly arrogant He had reason to believe the child wasn t his, but he still looked for h when she disappeared, despite the fact he thought she cheated I liked both characters and there was just enough internal dialogue from both to know their thoughts without going on and on I giggled when h stormed the boardroom and told the board members basically to get out I found the book entertaining and recommend it.
