A tragic kidnapping murder case that ruined many lives A number of young people involved in this crime chose not to intercede or even call authorities, but what was particularly shocking was the similar behavior of the adults parents, lawyers, etc It s very common for authors of true crime books to tell the story in the first half, then tell it AGAIN when the case goes to trial which of course makes for a boring and repetitive experience There were a lot of defendants and trials in this b A tragic kidnapping murder case that ruined many lives A number of young people involved in this crime chose not to intercede or even call authorities, but what was particularly shocking was the similar behavior of the adults parents, lawyers, etc It s very common for authors of true crime books to tell the story in the first half, then tell it AGAIN when the case goes to trial which of course makes for a boring and repetitive experience There were a lot of defendants and trials in this book, and I appreciated the way this author handled it, with sentences like they basically had the same opening statements, with a few new wrinkles A lot of writers would have unnecessarily padded the narrative by quoting this type of material over and over

I realizethat this was a convoluted group of kids, that there were many characters to write about, many different stories and perceptions to sift through and while I was mesmerized by this event, reading so many different views was difficult Four stars is a good rating it speaks for itself The only critique I wonder about is whether the story couldn t have been told by compilation, to bring cohesiveness to the conflicting tales, because in the end there is only one truth.

Decent book to read, nicely written A young innocent kid looses his life just because some scumbag a hole wanted to prove he could be a badass Jesse James Hollywood was born with priviliges but in the end he did not have the balls to face up to his crime, so he chose to run and hide He didn t do the killing himself but he was responsible no matter what.
